A Note about the Date: This is the start of school vacation. Here's
the story...
The University of
Maine is the only venue in Maine large enough to house our State Celebration.
The Maine Center for the Arts is undergoing renovations this year and the Alfond
Arena is the only site large enough to hold the Closing Ceremony. The ice is
still down until that weekend. This date, as unfortunate as it is, becomes the
first weekend that we can hold our Celebration. Any date after that would not
give teams who are progressing to Globals time to raise their funds. I
apologize for any hardship this causes but this situation puts it out of our
control. We traditionally hold the Celebration the first weekend in April but
this year it is not possible.
