Unless fuel is no object, a coasting trajectory is the most efficient. Pass by the earth’s moon, but avoid a slingshot acceleration. Reenter over the Pacific on a northward trajectory using atmospheric braking. Adjust path so sonic boom avoids NewYork City, but still enters Maine airspace near Kittery. Coast to a landing in the parking lot of the Oxford Plains Speedway and hitch a ride to South Paris. (Mars to South Paris is about 3 months) |
